Every now and then you might need to block certain third parties from accessing your sites. There are a lot of automatic bots that crawl the Internet, for instance, and create fake visits and website traffic. In addition, there are spammers that leave links to suspicious Internet sites as comments to website articles. This kind of things may greatly undermine your work, as no one likes to visit an Internet site with tons of fake comments, plus the increased traffic from both spammers and bots could create high load on the web server on which your Internet site is hosted, which could result in the site not functioning properly. Among the most effective solutions in such a case is to block the IP addresses that create the fake traffic, so as to make sure that the visits to your site are authentic.

IP Blocking in Shared Hosting

Our Linux shared service offer an IP blocking tool, so in case you would like to restrict the access to your websites, you'll be able to do so with just a few mouse clicks. The tool is part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which comes with all accounts and which is very easy to use. As soon as you log in and visit the IP blocking section, you will just have to choose a domain or a subdomain hosted in the account and input the IP address that needs to be blocked. Our system allows you to block entire networks as well, so if you type 123.123.123., for example, this shall block all IP addresses between 123.123.123.1 and 123.123.123.255 from accessing your sites. If you would like to whitelist an IP at some point, you could unblock it with simply a mouse click from the same section.

The Hepsia hosting CP, provided with our semi-dedicated hosting service, will enable you to solve the problem with unwanted traffic very quickly and easily. It features an IP blocking tool where you could add IP addresses with only several clicks. All domains and subdomains that you have inside the account shall be listed in a drop-down menu, so you only have to pick the one you need and then input the IP address which should be blocked. If you wish to block an entire range, a C-class network for instance, you simply need to type in the first three octets of the IP and leave the last one blank. This will block all 254 addresses, so you'll not have to enter them manually. Considering that all the IPs that you add in this section will be listed, you could quickly unblock any of them by clicking the Delete button related to the given IP.
